Zoom offers both a Meeting option and a Webinar option. Each one has its advantages and should be considered based upon what your meeting needs will be.

It is important to think through how you configure your Zoom Meeting account in order to maximize the functionality and manage the board meeting properly. Following are some specific things to consider as you configure your Zoom Meeting settings.
You first need to decide whether you are going to use Zoom Meeting or Zoom Webinar to conduct your virtual meeting. See the pros and cons for each as you consider which one is best for your situation.
If you are using Zoom Meeting for your board meeting, we recommend the following settings, optimized specifically for school boards.
Simbli is used to manage your board meeting agenda and supporting material. District staff will build out the agenda and all supporting documents within Simbli in advance of the meeting as they currently do.
Within your Meeting Setup, in the header, be sure to include the link to join the Zoom meeting, along with any instructions and reference to the meeting being live streamed on either Facebook or YouTube in the Meeting header.
When livestreaming via social media channels, make sure your district has a Facebook page or a YouTube channel. Then make sure the person who is hosting or co-hosting the Zoom Meeting or Webinar has admin rights to the social media channel you want to stream on.
Conducting board meetings within Zoom is very manageable but does require thoughtful consideration regarding a few important details.
